About CNC

Center for New Cinema specializes in the production of documentary films, book publications, film workshops, and film literacy program.

The company has produced the first full length 3D animation documentary (Cine/Sine) about the history of cinema in the Philippines and published three books that have won the National Book Awards.

It is also leading the country in using film as a medium of instruction in its Film Literacy Program. The program’s objective is to educate students from elementary up to college by using film and a film study guide book which was published by the company and won a National Book Award (Sine Gabay).

Currently, Center for New Cinema is working on a documentary film about five countries (Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand) and their environmental issues. This is being produced by the Nippon Foundation through the Asian Public Intellectuals Fellowship.
